Salsa Slots

Salsa Slots is an almost butt ugly Mexican themed game that looks like it was probably well drawn in some respects, but fails so hard on the color front that we feel odd just looking at it. It combines hand drawn visuals with no design sense and leaves your eyes somewhat strained the longer you look at it. We didn’t thoroughly enjoyed the time we spent with it, mostly wishing that they’d done something to tone down and spruce up the colors to be more palatable to the human eye.

If you can stand to stare at it for more than a minute, you’ll probably like Salsa Slots. It’s not a bad game, it’s just painful to look at sometimes. If you’re looking for something different, Salsa Slots will also fit that bill nicely. Skip this review and give it a dance! If not, read on and we’ll figure this whole thing out, we promise.

Premise of Salsa Slots

The premise of Salsa Slots is vaguely Mexican imagery. We’d say dancing alone, but there are animals and booze and other things not entirely in that vein of reasoning. That’s fine, there’s more to the game than the title, we just thought we’d point that out in case you really love dancing and would otherwise be disappointed by what you found here.

Presentation in Salsa Slots

Graphics in Salsa Slots are very mixed. Everything is crisp, clear, colorful, and compelling to look at, which makes your time spent playing all the easier because of how easy they are on the eyes. The characters and art are all hand drawn and don’t at all look bad in the line work. Things get wonky with the colors, however, which when combined all together, kind of make our retinas want to explode.

It’s a game we have a hard time physically looking at, which kills a lot of the experience for us.

Gameplay Mechanics in Salsa Slots

Gameplay in Salsa Slots is standard. At 5 reels and 20 pay lines, it does not break the mold there, chosing instead to keep things classy in ways we can respect.

Betting here ranges from a penny to $10, making this an accessible slot that anyone can jump into in hopes of winning a lot of money without worrying about necessarily breaking the bank in the process. Max bets cap out at $250, which tends to be how we rolled when we played it a bunch for our review. We appreciate being able to bet high because we can’t play this game for that long without taking breaks.

The bonus round is called the Salsa Feature, which is a dance reference and not a food break, which left us disappointed but richer for our troubles.

Disliked About Salsa Slots

- Colors are way too much - Gameplay is not very innovative - Can be a little addicting at times for obvious reasons

Who is Salsa Slots NOT For?

Although we enjoy this slot, it is not for everybody. In particular, it may not be your cup of tea if this describes you in any fashion:

* People prone to seizures * Averse to winning money online * Looking for something truly innovative in the genre * You find the theme in any way offputting

Is Salsa Slots Buggy?

In the time we spent playing this game, we did not encounter any bugs, problems, or errors. The same cannot be said for all slots of this genre, so we commend the developers for a job well done on that. We also encountered no issues in processing winnings or payments, and everything ran very smooth just like you would expect across many varied devices in a variety of ecosystems and operating systems.

Conclusion - The Bottom Line on Salsa Slots

Salsa Slots is a game we really want to like, but some key elements make it hard for us to play. If you can stand to look at it in all its bright and vivid glory, you’ll do just fine with Salsa Slots. It pays well and plays well, leaving nothing to be desired with how it turned out. For everyone else, you likely won’t be coming back to Salsa Slots much. They tried, they just may have tried a little too hard for our visual tastes.
