Eastern Dragon Slots

Eastern Dragon Slots is a vaguely Asian themed game that thankfully doesn't manage to be racist but also isn't all that great. It looks okay and has a nice color skim and the art is alright in small doses, but it all ends up feeling kind of generic across the board. Thankfully, it pays well, so there's that. We didn't thoroughly enjoyed the time we spent with it, mostly wishing that they'd carved out more of an identity for the game amid them any Asian themed slots on the market.

If you like money and all things Asian, this is a largely forgettable slot that will pay fairly well and reward you for the time spent. Skip this review and give it a spin! If not, keep reading and we'll make the most of your time here.

Premise

The premise of Eastern Dragon Slots is vaguely Asian stuff, China to be exact. It sometimes mixes other parts of Asian, but it's mostly Chinese. Everything's very red and golden, which is the dead give away here. We're not sure why they put Dragon in the title because that's one of the things that's in this game the least, but you get what they were after and were trying to do.

Presentation

Graphics in Eastern Dragon Slots are okay, but not great. Everything is crisp, clear, colorful, and compelling to look at, which makes your time spent playing all the easier because of how easy they are on the eyes. There's a huge missed opportunity here in their lack of using Kanji for the suits of cards, but the suits still look okay and are oddly stylized as if they were Kanji. We're not sure why they didn't just use Kanji here. It would have been so much better and easier and prettier.

The UI works really well with the rest of the game, and we do really like the red and gold color scheme. It might be a bit much for many, but it works for us.

Mechanics

Gameplay in Eastern Dragon Slots is standard and old like the dynasties the bastardized in this game. At 5 reels and 20 pay lines, it does not break the mold there, chosing instead to keep things classy in ways we can respect.

Betting here ranges from a penny to $5, making this an accessible slot that anyone can jump into in hopes of winning a lot of money without worrying about necessarily breaking the bank in the process. Max bets cap out at $200, which tends to be how we rolled when we played it a bunch for our review. We appreciate the really high betting amounts, as we really enjoy taking bigger risks in less time and getting the benefits from it.

The bonus round is called the Eastern Dragon Bonus Feature, which is fun, but nothing really new. We mostly appreciate wining more from time to time.

Dislikes

- Should really be called 'Vaguely Asian Slots' - Gameplay is not very innovative - Can be a little addicting at times for obvious reasons

Who is this Game For?

This game is suitable for players of all types. In particular, it should appeal to:

* Players new to digital slots and looking for something relatively accessible * Moderate intensity players that have gotten their feet plenty wet in the online slots world and are looking for something a little more involved * Jaded slot vets * People that mostly want to win a bunch of money playing digital slot games * Players looking for slot nostalgia for the similarities and differences this slot has to other games * People more used to normal video games that are looking to get their feet wet in the world of online slots

Who is the Game NOT For?

Although we enjoy this slot, it is not for everybody. In particular, it may not be your cup of tea if this describes you in any fashion:

* Averse to winning money online * Looking for something truly innovative in the genre * You find the theme in any way offputting

Is it Buggy?

In the time we spent playing this game, we did not encounter any bugs, problems, or errors. The same cannot be said for all slots of this genre, so we commend the developers for a job well done on that. We also encountered no issues in processing winnings or payments, and everything ran very smooth just like you would expect across many varied devices in a variety of ecosystems and operating systems.

Conclusion

Eastern Dragon Slots isn't going to wow you on any level. It has nothing you haven't seen before. And elsewhere this theme has likely been done better. What it does offer, however, is a competent slot that plays and pays well, and was done with just enough love to keep things interesting.

If you're okay with that, and have some spare change clanking around, throw it through the bowels of the internet at Eastern Dragon Slots. You'll have a good time and get a good return on investment, unless the Dragon takes it, in which case you're screwed.
