Mah Jong Madness Slots

Mah Jong Madness Slots is wonderful oriental game themed slot that looks great, plays great, and left us with a calm warm smile on our face as it filled our coffers so big that we retired. Most of that is true, and we’ll leave it to you to figure out where the fib is. We thoroughly enjoyed the time we spent with it, mostly wishing that we could see a little more of it, and they had worked some Mah Jong mechanics into the game to keep things more interesting.

As it stands, this is an easy game to pick up, play, and recommend for us, which we will do so now.

Premise

The premise of Mah Jong Madness Slots is the ancient game itself. You’ve probably seen it, and most of you have played it, even if you weren’t sure what you were looking at when you did. It’s an easy game to make digital, so it’s probably standard across all tech now, so you’ve probably got a copy nearby as you’re reading this review. They captured a lot of the visual elements of the game in an appreciative way, and worked it all over the experience, which we appreciate.

Presentation

Graphics in Mah Jong Madness Slots are quaint, calm, and adorable. Everything is crisp, clear, colorful, and compelling to look at, which makes your time spent playing all the easier because of how easy they are on the eyes. It feels just like a Mah Jong set your grandmother had, or one that you bought in Chinatown because you didn’t want to be too touristy but had to get something.

The UI is good, but does detract just a bit because it didn’t receive the same love and care as the rest. Still, that’s a minor gripe to an otherwise nice looking game, thanks in no small part to how pretty Mah Jong tiles are themselves.

Mechanics

Gameplay in Mah Jong Madness Slots is standard, just like the ancient game. At 5 reels and 20 pay lines, it does not break the mold there, chosing instead to keep things classy in ways we can respect.

Betting here ranges from a penny to $10, making this an accessible slot that anyone can jump into in hopes of winning a lot of money without worrying about necessarily breaking the bank in the process. Max bets cap out at $210, which tends to be how we rolled when we played it a bunch for our review. We were surprised this was such a high rolling game given the theme, but here we are, and we’re all the richer for it.

There’s not much to speak of in terms of bonuses or anything like that, which is fine, since it pays well and is relaxing.

Likes

+ Relaxing theme that’s not often used + Looks great + Solid and classic play mechanics + Decent payouts

Dislikes

- Didn’t work Mah Jong mechanics into the gameplay - Bonuses are few and far between - Gameplay is not very innovative - Can be a little addicting at times for obvious reasons

Who is this Game For?

This game is suitable for players of all types. In particular, it should appeal to:

* Players new to digital slots and looking for something relatively accessible * Moderate intensity players that have gotten their feet plenty wet in the online slots world and are looking for something a little more involved * Jaded slot vets * People that mostly want to win a bunch of money playing digital slot games * Players looking for slot nostalgia for the similarities and differences this slot has to other games * People more used to normal video games that are looking to get their feet wet in the world of online slots

Who is the Game NOT For?

Although we enjoy this slot, it is not for everybody. In particular, it may not be your cup of tea if this describes you in any fashion:

* Averse to winning money online * Looking for something truly innovative in the genre * You find the theme in any way offputting

Is it Buggy?

In the time we spent playing this game, we did not encounter any bugs, problems, or errors. The same cannot be said for all slots of this genre, so we commend the developers for a job well done on that. We also encountered no issues in processing winnings or payments, and everything ran very smooth just like you would expect across many varied devices in a variety of ecosystems and operating systems.

Conclusion

Mah Jong Madness Slots is a nice and respectful take on the classic game in slot form. It breaks no banks and doesn’t try too hard, but the strength of the source material is what makes it sing. If you love the game, money, and all things Asian, you’ll have a good time here. It’s not a zen garden, but in slot form, it’s seemingly close and about as relaxing. Until you start winning, then it’s just better.
